Adventure International’s team began in East Africa as managers, trip leaders, and guides for a mountain climbing outfitter working with a sister safari outfitter and various other luxury tour operators. Immediately, what set the mountain climbing outfitting operation apart was the dedication to train local guides in safety. Over a decade of climb preparation, briefings, trip management, emergency evacuation plans, written safety plans, and the most in depth methodology to systematic approaches of client health monitoring ensured the company’s place as a leader in professionalism and consistent product delivery.

In the meantime, the sister safari outfitter was a leader in luxury photographic safaris and remote adventures, including pioneering mountain biking safaris. Equally involved in outstanding community based tourism projects. As a combined luxury outfitter for the best East African adventures, the operation won ecotourism awards. Community based tourism gained acceptance and today is still seen as a means to reduce poverty in remote areas.

All the safari guides were chosen and trained with the philosophy about a sustainable future and making sure that guests were given an authentic experience based on these ideals. Guests on safari were taken to lodges and camps that merged with the landscape and were designed to be of minimum impact to the environment. Safaris were specialized to incorporate seasonal luxury mobile tented camps to be at the right place at the right time to see wildlife in abundance.
